| Description: |
The Hunters Hill Historical Society Museum is a resource centre providing liberal public access to historical records of families and organizations of Hunters Hill dating back to the early 1800s. We offer a secure archive for family and organization records. The objective of the Museum and Archive is to ensure the retention, preservation and control of records essential to local origins, history, functions, policies and activities. Our records might help a family trace a sibling or locate the home of a forbear. The Archive has extensive records on housing in Hunters Hill.
There is also a collection of furniture, decorative items, domestic effects and clothing reflecting the social and industrial history of the peninsula on display.
The picture on this page was taken near the post office circa 1900. It is from the Patching collection of hand-tinted glass slides.
The Museum’s current display is devoted to the history of Alexandra Street.
