80 BOATS DESTROYED IN $1M FIRE
80 boats destroyed in $1m fire
A MARIST Sisters’ Woolwich boatshed, adjoining wharf and 80 small sailing craft, were destroyed by fire on Monday morning, resulting in an $1 million damage bill.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at the Woolwich Road school by an employee who lives on the premises, at about 1.35am.
A crime scene was established and initial inquiries suggest the cause of the fire is not suspicious. A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
