LEGENDS SUPPORT ALEXANDER

Legends Support Alexander

John Alexander

Some of Australia’s greatest sports and entertainment legends attended John Alexander’s campaign launch as the Liberal candidate for Bennelong at this year’s federal election at Epping RSL Community Club.

2GB radio king Alan Jones hosted the event and introduced guest speakers including tennis legend Ken “Muscles” Rosewall, Balmain Tigers rugby league great Benny Elias, cricket’s MarkWaugh and Olympic gold medallist swimmer John Konrads.

Also on stage were social commentator Bettina Arndt and singer-songwriter Don Spencer (father of Danielle wife of Russell Crowe) who performed a specially composed song.

John Alexander said Bennelong residents need strong representation on the issues of local concern. “If I am elected I will work hard to be a strong voice for the community”, Alexander said.

“As I’ve been door knocking through the electorate or speaking with people at local shopping centres there have been a number of key issues which people are concerned about” he said.

“These include government debt and the waste of billions of dollars of taxpayers money by this Labor Government. People understand that the government cannot continue to borrow $100 million every day without it affecting the interest rates they pay on their mortgage.

“People know that the recent change of prime minister has not changed the government or its policies. Same policies, different messenger”, he said.
