Our new great value junior development programmes for boys and girls of all abilities from 3 years are:-

-KIDzCRIC(tm) - Pirates’ proven multisport programme for 3 to 6 year olds, run for 1 hour on Fridays 5pm to 6pm.

An excellent opportunity for children to improve their motor skills as children rotate from one skills activity to the next and make new friends. Cost is $40.

-FITCRIC(tm) - A Brand new programme for girls aged 5-12 years. Think fitness with music, dance and a splash of cricket skills with our qualified instructors. One hour Fridays 5 to 6pm. Cost is $30.

-CRIC6(tm) - Pirates’ solution for 6-7 year olds looking for a one hour transition programme before joining U8 Cricket. Run on Fridays 5pm to 6pm. Register as an individual or a team of 6 with your schoolfriends! Cost is $40.

The Pirates are also continuing in2cricket, a 12-week programme run on Saturday mornings 8.30-9.30am at Boronia Park, and Fridays 5-6pm at Drummoyne Oval in partnership with Sydney Cricket Club, promoting basic cricket skills. Cost is $50. Suitable for boys and girls 3-6 year old.

All children participating in the junior programmes receive a free training tee shirt, Pirates cap, their own light willow bat and other giveaways! Healthy living, healthy diet with fruit in these Pirates programmes-get your child off to a great start.

For our junior players aged 7 to 15 years, we offer junior competition at local ovals. Registration fees include a free training shirt, cap and team photo. Senior Cricket also 16 years and above.

Excitingly, the club is sending its first junior cricket team to New Zealand in January 2011.

THIS SEASON, the club will continue its commitment to promoting our annual Harmony Howzat Cup with Ryde’s sister council Central Darling Shire on March 13, 2011.

The club is promoting indigenous sport and indigenous education as only those indigenous children who regularly attend school can be chosen to come to Sydney next March.

A cricket club has been in existence in Ryde Hunters Hill since 1870. An interesting part of this history is that Sir Donald Bradman played invitational matches at Gladesville Hospital in 1929 and 1931, and we have found the original luncheon menu and photos.

Our club will pay tribute to this history with an opening season match at Boronia Park Oval on September 11 2010 with a commemorative lunch served at club sponsor Hunters Hill Hotel afterwards with guest speakers.

Club sponsor Westpac Top Ryde City will also field a sponsors’ team, headed by James Candrick, the friendly new branch manager at Top Ryde City.

Free activities for the children also from 9am to 12pm registration.
